  Women’s Health Evening

We would like to invite  women of all ages to our store for a Women’s only event.   RACHEL FASSBENDER, who holds a degree in Women’s Studies from the UW Madison will lead a discussion on Women’s Health.  Specifically Rachel  will explore  Holistic and Natural approaches to issues specific to a woman’s body.   Have  you ever heard of the Diva Cup? Nettle and Raspberry leaf tea for cramps? How does the endocrine and lymphatic systems relate to your menstrual  cycle?  What can  exercise and meditation  can do for issues commonly addressed with  medications?  Join us for what should be an entertaining and informative evening.  We will have Tea from FOUR ELEMENTS and organic snacks.  Sorry Dads and brothers this is a woman’s only event.  Join us Tuesday Aug. 25th 7:15pm   Please RSVP info@thegreenplan-it.com

Bats in Wisconsin

Ken Bowman, founder and President of Bat Conservation of Wisconsin (www.batcow.org), will be speaking at the Green Plan-it Tuesday, September 15th at 7pm.  His talk will cover the importance of bats to our ecosystem, safe and effective ways of evicting bats from unwanted habitats, and providing habitats for bats (bat houses).  He will debunk several bat myths.  Ken’s presentation, which lasts about an hour, will include live bats!  This is sure to be an entertaining and educational experience for the whole family.  Join us for this free event.  Please RSVP  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Composting The 24% rule (Andrew Skwor)....October 7th

Do you want to learn how to compost?  Andrew R. Skwor, PE, CPESC will speak at The Green Plan-it on Wednesday, October 7th at 7pm. Mr. Skwor is a 2001 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.  He maintains two Bachelor’s degrees in civil and environmental engineering.  Andrew is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan.  Since 2008 he has been certified internationally as a professional of erosion and sediment control.  Andrew has interests in hunting, fishing, canoeing, conservation, and woodworking and has always been fascinated by soil and microbes. 

Andrew has been involved with composting since 1997 and has been practicing since 2003.  Andrew works with several organics management groups throughout the state of Wisconsin and has authored two software programs for compost recipe development.  Andrew looks forward to sharing his wealth of information on helping home composters reap the benefits from well-managed waste.
